Nintendo Wii- Info, Updates, and Rumors

CAMPAIGN:

One thing that Wii players were excited about with the release of Call of Duty World at War was the hardcore Campaign. The previous big First Person Shooter for the Wii was Medal of Honor Heroes 2, which while having a pretty fun online multiplayer, the Campaign for MOHH2 is more boring than a long school day of quizzes and tests. The Campaign for the Wii contains all missions for it that are in the other versions except for the exciting Black Cats mission where you control the gunners of a WWII fighter plane. While most Wii players are dissappointed by having no Black Cats mission, the main dissappointment is the missing Zombie Mode. Before Call of Duty World at War's release, Treyarch only said that there would be Zombie Mode after completing campaign: they forgot to mention it wasn't on the Wii version. Most Wii players (including myself) bought Call of Duty for its Zombie Mode, but were dissappointed after we beat the Campaign and nothing was unlocked.

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Multiplayer

While the Campaign is very exciting, the online multiplayer is EXTREME! Most players of this game all say that Call of Duty's online Multiplayer easily surpasses that of Medal of Honor Heroes 2. Although almost all Wii players are dissappointed with the missing features that are in the other versions (Missing about 15 game modes, missing about 7 maps, and missing over 50 challenges, only 4 vs. 4 instead of 6 vs. 6 like on the XBOX 360, PS3, and PC). But what is the biggest upset is that Treyarch has said that an update for the Wii is impossible. Towards the middle of February the Wii version actually did recieve an additional 2 game modes (Team Survival, and Hardcore Free For All), however those are just Private Match settings now available in Public Matches, and they are very flawed. Team Survival has almost no people playing it. But Treyarch has claimed that it is impossible to give the Wii more maps, perks, challenges, etc. because of the Wii's small Hard-drive. While a lot of Wii players still cross their fingers for a real update, deep down everyone realizes the Wii will be left in the dust, while the other versions get their DLC and Map Packs. But don't let that turn you away from Call of Duty World at War for the Wii. If you have an XBOX 360, PS3, or gaming PC, then get Call of Duty WAW for that system; but if you only have a Wii, GET THIS GAME! While Wii players complain about this game and its lack of updates, we easily forget this is the #2 selling game on the Wii ever (not including Wii Sports), and the #1 selling First-Person-Shooter on the Wii so far! It has an advanced ranking and leveling-up system like no other Wii game has ever had before, along with a wide variety of weapons outnumbering Medal of Honor Heroes 2 about 27-10. So although it may be behind the versions for other consoles, it is easily the best Hardcore game out there for the Wii so far!

UPDATES:

So far there are no updates scheduled for the Wii version of Call of Duty World at War, and there probably wont be for quite some time.

RUMORS:

There are some who say that now Treyarch is bound to give us at least one map with the new Wii System Update 4.0 which allows for use of SD cards as high as 32 GB. Treyarch has never replied or even talked about any updates, but this Wii System Update does nothing but move us closer to at least a little bit of Downloadable Content.

PC- Info, Rumors, and Updates

CAMPAIGN
Call of Duty 4 was one of the hottest sellers on the PC in 2007-2008. While Infinity Ward was praised, Treyarch was quietly making a Hardcore game that some might say is even better than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Call of Duty World at War was at first frowned on when the idea was brought about that it would be going back into WWII. Many people thought the idea was boring, but Treyarch taught an old dog some new tricks. The incredible campaign was just part of the excellent game created by Treyarch. With possibly the best campaign out of any other versions of the game, it keeps players interested in case there internet is down, or they don't have internet. But Campaign quickly became more than just a back-up to online play. It even became a favorite over online multiplayer when Call of Duty fans realized just how challenging, hardcore, and violent this campaign really is.

TOP 3 MISSIONS:
Blowtorch and Corkscrew
Vendetta
Black Cats

ZOMBIE MODE
While Campaign is for some the best aspect of this game, others just play it one time through in order to unlock Nazi Zombie Mode played on the map Nacht Der Untoten. I've played this mini-game on PC before, and it was my favorite experience with Call of Duty World at War. I always love the challenge of starting off with a Colt Pistol, and then eventually hope I get that Flamethrower or Ray Gun as you fly through the rounds, and the hordes of Zombies increase.

The great part of the PC version of the game is that there are many modders out there. Just look through some websites, and find yourself some modified maps for download. These maps are very professional looking, but many PC gamers are excited about the Zombie map Veruckt coming out soon. It has been announced that it will be released for the XBOX 360 and the PS3 on March 19th, and then the PC version will come shortly after.

ONLINE MULTIPLAYER
Online multiplayer continues to be one of the main focuses of the players when it comes to how good a video game is. Well then does Treyarch have a gift for you. Treyarch here has created one of the greates online First-Person-Shooters ever in Call of Duty World at War. The release of tanks along with new kill streaks has kept all PC players interested.

Playstation 3- Info, Rumors, and Updates

CAMPAIGN
While Infinity Ward was praised for Call of Duty 4's excellent single player campaign, Call of Duty World at War did an excellent job in creating another Hardcore campaign for die-hard Call of Duty fans. While most would still say it isn't as good as Call of Duty 4, it is still action packed and exciting. While playing this, I noticed a very intelligent AI. The Call of Duty series has always done well in making the campaign challenging and realistic, but this has a very intelligent opponent when playing campaign. They know when to run away from your flamethrower, as well as when to be stealthy while you get in a sniper battle. It's not easy throwing a grenade now, seeing how they throw it back with success quite often, especially when you play on a high difficulty.
This is one of the best campaigns I have ever played on out of any video game. There was Hardcore Flamethrower-carnage, challenging sniper battles with other German Snipers, Machine Gun battles with your Mounted MG42, tanks, dogs, and even a mission called Black Cats in which you get to control the gunners of a WWII fighter plane as ou try to take out as many enemy planes and ships as possible. This is extremely fun. There is even one mission in which you get to grab mortar shells and throw them at your Japanese opponents.

TOP 3 MISSIONS:
Blowtorch and Corkscrew
Vendetta
Black Cats

ZOMBIE MODE
Probably the best aspect of this game is the mini game called Nazi Zombies played on the map Nacht Der Untoten. This is an extremely Hardcore game mode in which you can play by yourself, with a friend in your living room, or with multiple friends on the Playstation network. It's an awesome survival mode in which you survive the infinite swarm of zombies which are seeking revenge on the American soldiers. Start out with a simple Colt pistol, and then save up to play the Random Game in which you can just cross your fingers and hope you get that Ray Gun, Flamethrower, or Browning machine gun.
Look for a new Zombie Mode map on March 19 in which will be played at the Asylum. While playing on the new map look for perk-a-Cola machines where you can purchase special perks to help defend yourself from the living-dead.

NOTE: You can unlock Zombie Mode by defeating any difficulty of Campaign.

XBOX Live continues to be one of the main focuses of the players when it comes to how good a video game is. Well then does Treyarch have a gift for you.
